Hampsch has served as a parish priest, seminary professor, lecturer, magazine writer, newspaper columnist, editor, retreat master, hospital, prison and campus Chaplain. As well as Curillo director. He earned degrees in philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and from Notre Dame University, with postgraduate work at USC and the Dominican House of Studies in River Forest, Illinois in ascetical theology. Considered a master of puns, he strongly believes God has a great sense of humor which needs to be acknowledged and shared with a world which has had it with the debase and profane that have been passed off as humor.
